BENCHMARK U.S. MARKED VIETNAM ERA WINCHESTER MODEL 1200 TRENCH SHOTGUN

Bbl. 20″, cyl. Introduced in 1964 as the successor to the revered model 12, the model 1200 was designed with a lightweight, corrosion resistant alloy receiver, high strength steel barrel extension and bolt with 4 locking lugs. In the late 1960s, the Winchester 1200 shotgun was submitted for testing and later approved by the U.S. Army. Original M1200 trench guns are highly desirable and seldom encountered as few were ever released by the government. Original throughout, receiver features a black anodized finish and is marked “U.S.” on bottom below S#. Bolt, barrel, handguard / bayonet lug, sling swivels & screws are a gray / green parkerization. Original uncheckered, oil finished slide handle and pistol grip stock with correct unmarked checkered hard rubber buttplate. Rear swivel mounted on relieved area ahead of toe and is not inletted, which is correct for this model. Left side of bbl. marked “U.S.” above model designation. Left side of cast bayonet lug / adapter marked “11888388 / MFR-1A424”.
