SUBLIME CSMC FOX FE GRADE .410 W/ DOUBLE TRIGGERS AND BEAVERTAIL FOREND

The CSMC made Fox shotguns have gained a stellar reputation over the years and many feel they are indeed “The Finest Gun in the World”. This fine high grade example has 26″ dovetailed barrels that appear to be choked modified and full. They are fitted with slightly raised matted rib holding two white beads. Tops of barrels are gold inlaid “Made to Order, A.H. Fox” “Chromox-Fluid-Steel”. Breech ends have 3-1/2″ triangles of scroll engraving bisected by gold inlaid lightening bolts. Barrel flats are stamped with Fox proof and gold inlaid with grade, S# and gauge. Loop is stamped with maker’s name and address. Case hardened small size double ogee back Fox action with rotary bolt features automatic safety and gold plated double triggers. Watertable is marked with patent dates, engraved with vine borders and has S# and grade in gold. Action is engraved with near full coverage shaded scroll surrounding flush gold inlaid and Bulino detailed dogs and birds; pointer on left side of action and pointing setter on right. Bottom of action has scene of two flying grouse. Other gold accents include leaves around fences and gold wire geometric accents on hinge pin and top lever pivots as well as trigger plate. This fine engraving extends to trigger guard with scroll and roses on bow. S# is in gold on tang. An engraver’s signature is not found. Straight grip buttstock made of a very fine piece of richly veined and figured stump European walnut measures 14-3/8″ over checkered wood butt with fleur-de-lis intrusion. Side panels are checkered; matching grip checkering which also has fleur-de-lis and ribbons through pattern. Matching beaver tail ejector forend with Deeley/Fox release is stamped with patent dates on iron along with grade and S# in gold. Factory hang tag afixed to trigger guard states that this gun is a 20 Ga. Consignor’s tag states that this was a two barrel set with case (20 Ga. barrels and case are not included in this lot). MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2-7/16″. DAC: 1-7/16″. CAST: about 1/2″ off. LOP: 14-3/8″. WEIGHT: 5 lb. 13 oz. STATUS: MODERN.
