DESIRABLE CURIO & RELIC LONG BRANCH CHINESE CONTRACT STEN MK II SUBMACHINE GUN
03-1918 | Cal. 9mm (9x19mm Parabellum). | S# 12 L 3305. | Bbl. 8″.
1 of only approx. 73,000 Sten Mk II submachine guns mfg. in Canada at the Long Branch arsenal for the Chinese Nationalist military. The top of the mag. well exhibits 3-lines of Chinese characters, appearing to denote the model and country of origin. Underside of the mag. well is stamped with the S# above “STEN MK II/ LONG BRANCH/ 1945”. Left side of the trigger housing is stamped with what appears to be a “CA/ 90” within an oval proof. Metal components exhibit what appears to be their original dark parkerized finish, with the bbl. and some small parts being blued. Forward 3/4 of the bbl. nut exhibits a notably lighter parkerized finish and appears to be have refinished at one time. Bolt is polished in-the-white, exhibiting an electro-penciled encircled broad arrow proof on the left side. Bbl. nut and rear of stamped steel stock are mounted with a 1944 dated khaki web sling.
