WICKED COOL PARALLEL BARREL BOXLOCK PIGEON GUN BY ELLIS BROS. WITH EXTENSIVE DECORATIVE INLAY

The 30″ two stripe damascus barrels are laid parallel and joined at breech and muzzle with metal blocks. Center is open without ribs. Rear block has rosewood extension inlaid with gold figures of pigeons, a shamrock and a heart. Rib portion of rear block is engraved “Ellis Bros Makers. 16, St Mary’s Row. Birmingham” which is surrounded by scroll engraving. Front sight is set in red gold base and silver decorations are pinned to bottom of front block. Barrrel flats are stamped with original Birmingham nitro proofs for 1-1/8 oz. of shot and 1985 London re-proofs for 2-1/2″ chambers at .732 bore diameter. Case hardened boxlock action is fitted with automatic safety and double triggers. Action is near fully engraved with exceptionally well cut varying size shaded scroll within scroll borders. “Ellis Bros” is on each side. Matching trigger guard has S# on tang. Buttstock, made of beautifully figured and marbled European walnut, measures 14-1/4″ over wood butt with engraved platinum heel and toe plates; top plate has long tang. Silver central diamond is red, white and blue enameled around initials “NDH” (?). Stock has long extended knob grip with flat top checkering; side panels have small drop points. Stock is decorated with gold inlaid pigeons on each side panel, gold heart behind top tang, vacant silver shield on ball of grip, another silver shield at tip of buttplate tang depicting a lion passant on crown which is flanked by the date “19” “18”. A silver shield on toeline is engraved with another monogram “WP” (?). Matching splinter forend with Anson release has broad engraved silver tip. Forend gold inlays include a snipe and mallard duck, and shield at center engraved with a scene of hunter and dog. Triangular silver decorations are on each side.
