SINCLAIR HAMILTON 1862 DATED BLOCKADE RUN CONFEDERATE ENFIELD RIFLE MUSKET

01-28235 |  Cal. 577. | NSN.

This is a nice example of a very scarce Sinclair Hamilton and Company proofed 1862 dated pattern 1853 Enfield rifle musket, the work horse long arm of the Confederate infantry. 39″ barrel with not normally seen London 25-gauge proof marks and “JP” inspection, long range ladder sight. Sinclair Hamilton mark forward of buttplate tang: crown over “SH / C1”, “TAYLOR & NEWMAN” stamped in belly of butt stock. Opposite lock is stamped “G. CARR”, and oval cartouche with indiscernible initials. This is a fine survivor that survived with superior condition. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of pertinent pages from the “THE ENGLISH CONNECTION” by Russ Pritchard & Corky Huey, detailing this rarely offered longarm. STATUS: ANTIQUE.
