WELL REFURBISHED PAIR OF JAMES MACNAUGHTON ROUND ACTION EJECTOR GAME GUNS WITH CASE AND ACCESSORIES

The 28-1/4″ barrels are engraved “James MacNaughton 36 Hanover Street. Edinburgh.” along with either “1” or “2” on narrow swamped game ribs. These numbers also appear on top tangs denoting a true pair. Forends are matched by comparing “No 2” on bottoms of barrels on gun “2” and matching numbers on interiors of irons. Barrel flats are stamped with original London black powder proofs, 1985 Birmingham re-proofs for 2-1/2″ chambers and 1994 London re-proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers along with “SLEEVED”. Coin finished round bodied trigger plate actions are stamped with “MACNAUGHTON” S#s, patent use numbers (273 or 274), London proofs and either “No 1” or “No 2” on watertables. Actions feature typical MacNaughton toggling safetys, crystal window cocking indicators with tops of tumblers visible through slots in top levers, along with double triggers. Actions and trigger plates are engraved with near full coverage well cut small scroll within geometric and some Celtic knot borders. Tops of fences are engraved “MacNaughton” and “Edinburgh” on ribbons. S#’s are on long trigger plate tangs. Well matched and crafted replacement buttstocks of nicely streaked and lightly figured European walnut measure 14-3/4″ over checkered wood butts. Well cut point pattern checkering is at grips. Matching splinter patent ejector (use #s 79 & 80) forends have forward lever releases. Insides of irons are marked with patent #s and either “No 1” or “No 2″. MEASUREMENTS: Gun #1. A large James MacNaughton label is in lid along with instruction label on how to place guns in case.
