EARLY FINE FLUTED COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY REVOLVER

Standard configuration revolver, 8″ barrel, German silver blade front sight, 1-line Hartford address, 6-shot fluted cylinder with S# in one flute and “PATENTED SEPT 10th 1860”, 4-screw frame with raised screws to accept stock. Frame stamped “COLT’S PATENT” on left side, silver plated brass trigger guard & iron back strap, varnished walnut grips. Revolver shipped to NY Agency January 1861 and in range of revolvers shipped to Georgia, South Carolina, & Maryland just before Civil War began, gun was returned to factory and shipped to JC Grubb of Philadelphia where several identified guns shipped there have Confederate IDs. Displayed in vintage COLT plaqued oak casing. This is a superior 3-digit fluted Colt that saw use, but survived in beautiful condition. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter.
