GERMANIC MATCHLOCK GUN

The 44″ octagon to round barrel is stamped with early proofs and maker’s marks on rear top flat. Match lock with lever actuated pivoting dog has pan set on top of relief decoration of a two headed eagle. More maker’s marks are stamped on plate which match those on barrel. Full length stock made of beech has sculpted comb and wood patchbox on right side of butt. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27570/MGM)
