SCARCE SMALL SIZE 4 BARREL DUCKFOOT FLINTLOCK BOXLOCK PISTOL BY JOSEPH BUNNEY

The 1-5/8″ cannon turned screw off barrels with star muzzles are numbered 1 through 4 on tops matching numbers on manifold breech. Barrels are fired all at once with boxlock flint action with reinforced cock and frizzen with internal spring. Left side of action is engraved “BUNNEY” within scroll device; “LONDON” is on right side. No proofs are found. (Joseph Bunney is known to have been working in Birmingham between 1766-1825.) Flat sided walnut stock with bag grip is decorated with scrolling inlaid silver wire. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27521/MGM)
