PAIR OF SCOTTISH ALL METAL FLINTLOCK PISTOLS WITH DETACHABLE BAYONETS BY MCNAB

This good pair of traditional Scottish pistols measure 13″ overall and have 7-3/4″ barrels that go from fluted breech section through bands to round and then flare to octagonal muzzles. Flint locks have flat plates fitted with serpentine cocks, rounded integral pans, friction unbridled frizzens and feather springs with filed borders and multi-ringed finials. The center of each lock is engraved “P. McNab” (Patrick McNab working in Dalmally Scotland 1725-50). Iron frames have rams horn butts, oval ball prickers. Triggers have silver ovals inlaid on sides of grips (engraved “RA”). Belt hooks with pierced bases are on left sides. Each pistol is fitted with removable knife bayonet that attaches to mount on right side of barrel channels. They are held by detent when extended and are stored upside down in the same mount when not in use. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27546/MGM)
