Standard configuration of rare Confederate revolver made in Augusta, GA late 1863 or early 1864. This example conforms to other examples in this serial range w/ small number dies w/ broken “1” & “7”. Revolver has correct “CSA surcharge” on top of octagonal barrel housing flat. Matching serial numbers are found on all parts normally numbered w/ exception of wedge which is replaced and grips which are not numbered. This gun has a long collector history being first described to Confederate pioneer collector and authority William Albaugh in Dec., 1955.
