Overall length: 37 3/4″. Blade length: 30 1/2″. Single fullered blade has an unstopped fuller. Gilded brass hilt has “CS” between the 2 outside branches & is commonly called a “Floating CS” Staff & Field Officers sword. The underside of the guard has a rayed design around the blade coupled w/ fish scales on the short branch & oak leaves on the outer branch. Leather grip w/ brass wire wrap. The brass is typical, dark coppery brass as often seen in this & other Confederate sabers. The brass mounted leather scabbard has mounts of similar coppery brass. These swords were produced in Columbus, Mississippi.
