The Warren family has a rich history in the Massachusetts Militia as well as state & federal politics. Among the many famous Warrens in Mass. history, is Joseph Warren who was Henry E. Warren’s third great grandfather. This flag was likely kept around the Warren homestead to honor the service of Captain Joseph Warren in the 6th Middlesex Militia of Massachusetts, otherwise known as Reed’s Regiment.
