Classic C93 Borchardt pistol, strikingly embellished w/ superbly rendered gold & silver inlay accented scrolls on bbl. & top of action w/ “WAFFENFABRIK LOEWE BERLIN” & “D.R.P. No. 75837” in gold as well. This fine gold & silver scroll melds into line borders on sides surrounding classic Germanic 19th century inspired scenes on rear of receiver; w/ bursts of acanthus scroll surrounding torso of spear wielding warriors, hunters, gargoyles on sides. Mainspring housing is inlaid w/ cornucopia & quivers of arrows. Grips & mag. bottom are of finely figured & veined Circassian walnut. They are superbly shaped & finished by master stock maker Steven Heilmann. Lee Griffiths of Utah Park, Utah is an internationally recognized award winning hand engraver. Lee started engraving with tools he fashioned from chunks of steel and a broken hammer in 1997. His passion for engraving and extraordinary artistic talent quickly led to recognition by the Firearms Engravers Guild of America (“FEGA”) as a Master Engraver in 1999. By 2002, Lee was teaching regular courses for engraving and artistic design. Lee’s work has continued to be praised by his peers. He has won the prestigious “Engravers Choice” award eight times at the FEGA Annual Exhibition (2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 ) along with over 30 “Best of Show” categories and awards of merit. Lee has also won gold medals at Concours d’Elegance of Fine Guns at the Vintage Cup, Millbrook, NY. Many of Lee’s guns are on display at the NRA Museum.
