Bbl. 39 1/2″ full oct. stamped “S. MORRISON MILTON”. Overall length 54″. This rifle has a 4-piece engraved brass patchbox w/ 7 piercings. Stock has 34 silver inlays & is made of curly maple. Imported percussion English lock w/ dbl. set triggers. 6 1/2″ brass saddle plate & 5″ brass toeplate. Silver cheekpiece inlay is a fabulous engraved American eagle w/ shield. PROVENANCE: this rifle was found in the 1930’s by T.J. Cooper & was purchased out of his collection 15 years ago. This very rifle is pictured in Edith G. Cooper’s “The Kentucky Rifle and Me,” as plate #75 on pg. 83.
