This superb creation by two of the most highly regarded craftsmen of the present day started w/ a new model 70 “classic” action. A nicely detailed many stepped matted quarter rib holding 1 standing 1 folding leaf express rear sight was fitted to 24″ tapered rnd. bbl. Gold bead front sight w/ flip up night bead is longitudinally dovetailed into sleeved on short ramp. A sleeved on sling eye is also fitted. Rear portion of bbl is engraved w/ “caliber” on left & John Bollinger’s signature & “riflemaker” on right. French gray action has been fitted w/ custom scope bases. Top strap has been extended & climbs over comb, in H&H fashion terminating in a fleur-de-lis. Bolt knob has been checkered in four teardrop panels w/ square bottom panel. Trigger & safety lever are fire blued. Bottom metal has drop box magazine w/ hinged floorplate w/ release button in trigger guard bow. Rear tang has been checkered & extends to steel grip cap. Engraving on action & bottom metal is of the highest order, consisting of a background of extremely well cut & finely shaded varying sized classic scroll interspersed w/ sprigs & tendrils of gold inlaid foliage. Floorplate has raised & silver inlaid quartering portrait of white rhino w/ superb bulino details. Bottom of grip cap has another fine portrait of lioness w/ 2 cubs. This fine work is by Thierry Duguet of Charlottesville, VA. Stock by John Bolliger is of an exceptional exhibition grade piece of European walnut w/ spectacular crotch figure & exquisite dark marbling through butt & relatively straight grain running from grip into forend.

Stock measures 14″ over red Decelerator pad & features classic shadowline right hand cheekpiece, 2 recoil bolts through stock, black ebony forend tip, & exceptionally well cut point pattern checkering at grip & forend which has sections of pattern separated by ribbons. A Schmidt & Bender 1.1-4x “Zenith” scope w/ 3 post & crosshair reticle is in custom rings which are engraved matching action.
