PROFESSIONALLY CARVED POLYCHROME RUM HORN “DAVID BREWER, 1759”.

About 7″x4″, exceptional, professionally carved French & Indian war half horn, probably made in England. Similar examples of professional polychrome horns are found in several texts. This horn is profusely carved w/ full coverage as seen in photos. British coat of arms, map & towns, 4 line inscription “DAVID BREWER / HIS RUM HORN / AT QUEBEECK A&O / DOM SEP 1759”. Vertically on either side a pewter spout “BRITISH / COLOURS / ON / ALL / FRENCH / FORTS / AYE READY”. Col. David Brewer, (1732-1799) a veteran of both French & Indian & Revolutionary Wars.
