Mfg. w/ late 1945 era features to include: Keyes Fibre sm. ring grips, High Standard P proofed blued bbl., late 8 rib grooved arched mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop, checkered safety tab, serrated slide lock, Type III sm. font slide markings (1” long) & all parkerized finish. Extremely low No. as most seem to be numbered 50-80 w/ some references stating 100 as possible total. Often referred to as experimental w/ ERRS meaning Experimental Remington Rand Series. Noted expert, Karl Karash, states ERRS has no particular meaning w/ argument being that so late in the war no need for experimentation during production. ERRS pistols usually disposed of as gifts for contracting personnel & employees. Several remained in company safe long after WWII & later sold. True to form, pistol is w/out any governmental, provisional or inspection marks. Very desirable example w/ unheard of single digit S#. MAGS: 1 very good 2 tone 7 rd. w/ parting line below mag. latch. Pinned base w/ 1/16” shorter lip & no detent on feed lip as used in Remington UMC pistols.
