Barrel: 43 1/4″ oct. measuring 15/16″ across flats at the muzzle.
Sights: Dovetailed German silver blade front sight w/ fixed V notch rear sight.
Stock: Full length curly maple stock is fastened by 4 brass keys through engraved pointed elliptical German silver escutcheons
Markings: Top flat is script marked w/ maker’s name “Thomas Allison”.
Notes: This Allegheny school Golden Age rifle is attributed to Thomas Allison who presumably learned his trade from the Ferrees. “American Gunsmiths” by Frank M. Sellers has the following listing: “ALLISON, THOMAS, (1786-1836), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1810-1816, New Sweickly, Pennsylvania, 1816-1836. Flintlock and percussion rifles.”
