WONDERFULLY ENGRAVED CUSTOM REMINGTON MODEL 721 WITH SCOPE.

Having superb scroll engraving & gold inlay on floorplate most likely by John Warren, this rifle features 24″ medium weight bbl. fitted w/ muzzle brake & Marbles folding leaf rear sight. Remington markings & caliber are on left side. Standard 721 Action has had bolt body engine turned. Knob is hand checkered in two tear drop panels. A “Jaeger” side mnt. has been fitted. What appears to be custom bottom metal w/ hinged floorplate having release button in trigger guard bow is very finely engraved & gold inlaid. Floorplate engraved w/ exceptionally well cut & shaded varying size scroll, the larger whorls of which have secondary internal scrolls, similar to & almost a signature of the known work of the noted John Warren. This delicate scroll surrounds superb Oak leaf & pine bough engraved wreath around gold inlaid portrait of an elk or red stag, nicely detailed. Matching scroll is on trigger guard bow. No signature is found. American walnut stock measures 13 1/2″ over “PO Ackley” marked black pad. Stock features swept left hand cheekpiece, rosewood grip cap & forend tip w/ white wood spacers & well cut point pattern checkering at grip & forend. A gold oval along w/ a sling eye is on toeline. Rifle fitted w/ Unertl Hawk 4x Scope w/ crosshair & post reticle in Paul Jager side mount & rings.
